The 4 Stages of Self-Awareness & Healing

Have you ever looked at your life and thought, “why does this keep happening to me?”. Maybe it’s another relationship that ended the same way, another season of burnout at work, or another promise to yourself that you’ll stop overworking, overdrinking, overspending, people-pleasing, or scrolling your feelings away.

It might be time to start the next step, which is learning where you are in your healing journey, and if you’re ready for self-healing. Self-awareness, healing, and spiritual growth happen in stages. Understanding where you are right now can help you recognize how far you’ve come, and what your soul might be asking of you next.

We have a quiz to help you understand where you’re at emotionally, spiritually and mentally so you can answer questions like “am I ready for a spiritual healing retreat?”.

How the Quiz Works

For each question, choose the answer that feels MOST like you right now — not who you were 5 years ago, and not the “perfect” version of you that only exists in your head on a good hair day.

1. When life smacks you with the same problem again (toxic ex, money chaos, overdrinking, burnout), your first thought is:

A. “Why does this always happen TO me? People/life just suck.”

B. “Okay… I might be the common denominator here. Awkward.”

C. “I know exactly which wound this poked. Time to use my tools and regroup.”

D. “Got it. I see the pattern, the lesson, and the upgrade. Thank you, Universe.”

2. Your relationship with coping mechanisms (food, booze, shopping, scrolling, overworking) is:

A. “They’re not coping mechanisms, it’s just… what people do. Totally normal.”

B. “I know I use them to numb. I just haven’t fully stopped. Yet.”

C. “I’ve cut back or quit the worst ones, and I catch myself way faster now.”

D. “They barely tempt me. When stress hits, I reach for grounding + soul tools first.”

3. When you screw up or behave badly, you usually:

A. Blame someone/something else and move on. No reflection, thanks.

B. Feel ashamed, drag yourself through the mud, promise to “do better” with no plan.

C. Reflect on what got triggered and journal/process it when you can.

D. Own it, repair it if needed, and adjust your energy/behavior with compassion.

4. Your inner voice sounds like:

A. Denial + defensiveness: “It’s fine. You’re fine. Everyone else is the problem.”

B. A perfectionist drill sergeant: “Wow, you messed up again. Get it together.”

C. A tough‑but‑loving coach: “Yeah, that hurt. Let’s figure out why and what you need.”

D. A calm inner guide: “You’re safe. Here’s the lesson, here’s the next aligned step.”

5. How often do you notice synchronicities, “signs,” or intuitive nudges?

A. Rarely. And if I do, I chalk them up to coincidence.

B. Sometimes, and I think they mean something… but I’m not sure what.

C. Often, and I can usually connect them to what I’m working through.

D. Constantly. Numbers, dreams, body sensations, “just knowing” — it’s like a conversation.

6. Boundaries. What’s your vibe?

A. “Boundaries?” I mostly let people, work, and chaos run my life and my calendar.

B. I try to set them, then feel guilty and cave or over‑explain.

C. I have decent boundaries and I’ll enforce them… even if it’s uncomfortable.

D. My boundaries are rooted in self‑respect. I hold them with both firmness and grace.

7. When you feel triggered (anger, shame, jealousy, abandonment, etc.), what happens next?

A. I react. Big or quiet, but it’s pure autopilot.

B. I notice I’m triggered… and then usually still act from that place.

C. I can usually pause, breathe, and choose a better response — imperfect, but conscious.

D. I see the trigger as a teacher, ride the wave on purpose, and integrate the insight.

8. Which statement feels most like you right now?

A. “I don’t really see me as the problem. Life is just unfair.”

B. “I know I get in my own way… I just don’t fully know how to stop yet.”

C. “I’ve done a lot of work and changed a ton. I’m not who I used to be.”

D. “I’m actively co‑creating my life with the Universe and refining my energy on purpose.”

9. Your growth journey feels:

A. Pretty much nonexistent. I’m mostly on autopilot.

B. Messy and uncomfortable — like a never‑ending wake‑up call.

C. Deep, tiring at times, but absolutely worth it — I’d never go back.

D. Expansive and kinda magical. Challenging, yes, but also guided and exciting.

10. If your soul could send you a push notification right now, it would say:

A. “Hey… can we please just admit something’s not working?”

B. “You’re awake now. Stop pretending you don’t see it.”

C. “Pause. Integrate. You’ve come so far — trust your tools.”

D. “Let’s play. You’re ready to expand. Ask bigger and receive more.”

How to Score Your Self-Healing Quiz

  1. Count how many A’s, B’s, C’s, and D’s you chose.

  2. Your dominant letter = your main result.

  3. Tied between two letters? You’re in a transition stage — read both.

Now let’s see where your soul’s hanging out…

Mostly A’s: Awakening to Energy Mastery

You’re in the “crawl space” right before the big wake‑up.

  • You tend to see problems as happening to you rather than through you.

  • Coping mechanisms are still in charge; reflection is rare or brief.

  • Boundaries? Either MIA or full of holes. Triggers = instant reaction.

This is not a shame label. This is your invitation.

Life is turning up the volume on your patterns so you can’t pretend not to hear them. The minute you move from “Why is this happening to me?” to “What is this showing me about me?” you step out of self‑blind and into Awakening.

You’re ready to stop sleepwalking and start steering. It might be time for a spiritual healing retreat, your heart is open and ready to learn.

Mostly B’s: Dawning to Your Highest Self

Congrats — your eyes are open. Now we just have to get you out of the hallway.

  • You see your patterns. You know that you self‑sabotage.

  • You understand you use numbing tools (food, wine, scrolling, drama) to cope.

  • Your inner critic is loud; shame often tags along for the ride.

You’re in the Dawning phase: the lights are on, denial has left the building, and now it’s about building tools, compassion, and boundaries so you don’t drown in awareness without change.

This is where you:

  • Stop looping the same painful cycles.

  • Learn to pause before reacting.

  • Swap “I suck” for “I’m learning” and actually do something different.

You’re awake — it’s time to actually live like it. You’re ready for a healing retreat, you’re ready to stop the patterns, you just might need someone to help push you to really follow through.

Mostly C’s: Healing into Your Highest Self

You’ve been through it — and you didn’t waste that pain.

  • You’ve faced your core wounds and changed major habits.

  • You use tools: journaling, therapy, breathwork, retreats, boundaries.

  • You recognize your triggers and usually work with them instead of letting them wreck you.

Sometimes you feel tired, stuck, or like you’re buffering at 78%. That’s not failure; that’s integration.

You’re in the Healing stage:

  • No longer who you were, not yet who you’re becoming — but well on your way.

  • Learning to rest without quitting.

  • Letting your healing ripple out into relationships, work, and purpose.

You’re not in the crawl space anymore — you’re remodeling the whole damn house. Maybe you’ve already been to an emotionally healing retreat, or you’re ready to enter a stage of forgiveness for yourself and you just need that outside voice of support. Either way, we’re here for you.

Mostly D’s: Expanding into Energy Mastery

You, my friend, are flirting with full‑blown Energy Jedi status.

  • Old coping mechanisms don’t have much pull anymore.

  • You set intentions, notice synchronicities, and follow your intuitive hits.

  • Your triggers feel more like teachers than torture.

You’re in the Expanding stage:

  • Co‑creating with the Universe instead of fighting yourself.

  • Refining your gifts (hello, clairs + goosebump guidance).

  • Learning to stay grounded and human while your soul goes supernova.

This isn’t about being “done” — it’s about playing at a higher frequency on purpose.
